He's lovable and joyful and a real eye-catcher with all those spots. Currently in ISO and out of the public eye, he'd love to be seen by everyone -- and taken home by you!!! I wash my hands before eating. I wait patiently -- even though I am starving. I'm all bones but -- I'm all love.

Huckleberry (A1083928, male 4 year old hound mix, red-listed on January 4th for medical reasons) was brought in from the streets weighing only 76 pounds, though should probably be closer to 100. Scars, scabs from concrete, filthy coat -- having probably lived under cars -- he now has pneumonia and needs immediate vet care. This amazing, gentle dog who walks through the kennels, meets dogs who want to tear him apart, perks up his ears at the little ones barking but doesn't react -- must find his angel today. We had a choice -- knowing that he has little chance -- to network him or not. There was no way to ignore his plight. We are absolutely in love with him and want his life spared. THE RULES:

As a volunteer transport coordinator, I am dependent on what the senders tell me about our passengers' temperaments.. The very nature of rescue transport creates some risk for those who participate in it; even a good-natured dog may find it stressful to be passed from stranger to stranger and cooped up with unfamiliar dogs, and in consequence may act in uncharacteristic ways. Neither I nor anyone associated with this transport can accept liability for any accidents or incidents that may occur during the transport.

If you wish to adopt a dog you have driven you must go through regular channels (the receiving rescue). No dog leaves this transport.

Please do NOT bring your own personal pets on this transport. This can create a number of potential risks. It is also advised not to bring small children along on transports.

Overnighters: Please take appropriate precautions when overnighting dogs. I always recommend keeping your overnight guests segregated from your own animals for many reasons. We only know what we've been told about the passengers on this transport and as such, cannot make any guaranties.
