This dog is a very nice senior female Yellow Labrador Retriever. She needs to be spending her golden years lounging around with her owner and not here at animal control. Please contact us if you are interested in adopting or rescuing this sweet girl. Intake date: 9/17/2009 Lost and stray animals are held at Dekalb Animal Services for five business day stray waiting period in order to give their owners a chance to reclaim. After that time period, adoptable animals are held as long as space allows.

Mellie was found running in traffic on a busy expressway and taken to the local shelter by a good samaritan.  After she arrived, it became obvious that she was very pregnant.  The vet estimates that Mellie is due on approximately Oct. 14th, so she desperately needs to get to rescue before she delivers at the shelter.  This transport is being considered an emergency and MUST take place THIS weekend!  PLEASE HELP!!

NOTE: Since Mellie has not been quarantined and is unable to receive all of her vaccinations due to her pregnancy, she will be the only dog on this run.  I'm sorry, but no other dogs can be added.
