Happy New Year, everyone! Here's a feel-good opportunity to start the new year. Ringo is an energetic young border collie who is going to a high-drive/performance rescue in southern California - a perfect placement for him. He will be traveling with a crate and MUST be crated during the trip. The Mastiff girls are being reunited with their owner, who had to relocate to Glendale, AZ from his former home in Minnesota.

Two drivers will be needed for any legs where Ringo (crated) and the big girls can't fit in one vehicle. :) Times are somewhat flexible - let me know what you can do and maybe I can adjust.

We've had a couple of generous offers from pilots in the Southwest. If the weather gods smile on us, we'll be able to use their services. But since the weather gods can be capricious, we still have to fill all legs of the ground transport, just in case.

Please feel free to crosspost - I would LOVE to get this filled "early". :)

Thanks so much!

**UPDATED SUN., 1/3 4:40PM**

Well, we've had a little change of plans. Ringo is going to get to Albuquerque on a different transport, then join this transport from ABQ to California. Also, I've learned that the two big girls are going to be traveling with their crates. They are collapsible, but they're also large. I'll get the exact dimensions. So the bulk of the trip will just have 2 doggy passengers and their large luggage.

As I mentioned before, we've had a couple of generous offers from pilots in the Southwest. If the weather gods smile on us, we'll be able to use their services. But since the weather gods can be capricious, we still have to fill all legs of the ground transport, just in case.

Please feel free to crosspost. :)

Thanks so much!

ORIGINAL POST:

Above and Beyond English Setter Rescue is requesting your
assistance in getting Kagin from her temp foster home to her
long term foster home.

Kagin is the last of a breeder surrender. We pulled 6 dogs last
weekend but little Kagin was unable to make that transport.

As usual, ALL legs are f-le-x-i-b-l-e.

If you are in between stops, but willing to help, email us with your
location and we'll discuss the possibilities of rewriting the run sheet
to accommodate you.

Also, you all are out there driving and know your roads better than we
do. If you need extra time added to the leg, please let us know when
you
volunteer and we can tweak the times to account for construction and
high traffic areas.

REMEMBER!: Many of the groups that we coordinate for are 501c3

HARRISONBURG,VA TO WHIPPANY,NJ.SAT OR SUN, JAN 9 OR 10. SOME CHI and LAB BABIES

We tried this Dec 19-20 and got snowed out.

The old transport was for the Taco Bell Quintet -- Lita, Jose, Jorge, Pedro and Miguel (coming in a small crate) and Dillon, the adorable Lab/Bernese puppy, were going to their forever homes just in time for the holidays! The two Royal Sisters (Princess and Duchess) 12-week old lab babies, were going into foster care. Some of the dogs have already been adopted, so we are not sure who is going. It will be a couple of lab puppies and up to four chihuahua puppies. All will be vetted, altered, up to date on shots, travelling with a health certificate, collar and leash and tags.

So with this in mind, who will help get these dogs to their fosters or adopters this coming weekend?

Let me know.

Thanks.

RESCUE TRANSPORT NEEDED
Saturday & Sunday, January 9-10, 2010
Seymour, TX to Phoenix, AZ

2 Anatolian Shepherd Dogs
Foster Home to Adoptive Home

NASRN Transport Coordinator: Beth Goldowitz

Crossposting is greatly appreciated!

Rescue transport help is needed on Saturday and Sunday, January 9-10, 2010, for Lilly and Sam, two Anatolian Shepherd Dogs traveling from their foster home in Seymour, TX to their adoptive home (approved, home visit completed) in Rosedale, BC Canada. This is the first stage of Sam and Lilly's very long trip; they will have a layover in Phoenix, AZ before continuing on to Canada the following weekend.

If you can assist with part of this transport, please contact Beth Goldowitz, Transport Coordinator, National Anatolian Shepherd Rescue Network, www.nasrn.com, at goldowitz@hamilton.net (hamilton.net), 608.753.2456 CST.

Sam and Lilly are survivors, and so grateful for their new chance for happiness. Their former owner got a job in another state and ditched them at the local kill shelter before leaving town. Luckily, some rescue angels spotted the dogs there and alerted NASRN. Sam and Lilly have been in foster care for months now, waiting for the right home. Against all the odds, they have a wonderful, loving home where they can stay together--they just need to make the very long trip to western Canada!

Lilly is a happy, happy dog who just loves attention. She loves being with people and going for walks, and adores children. She even likes riding in the car. Lilly is approx 6-8 years old, 115 lbs, spayed, healthy and UTD on shots. Sam is quiet, gentle and mellow. He's a bit reserved (he apparently was mistreated in his former life) but, when he's ready, just soaks up love and affection. He too is wonderful with children and has been diligently guarding the kids in his foster family. Sam is approx 5-6 years old, 120 lbs, neutered, healthy and UTD on shots.

Sam and Lilly will travel with their own collars, leashes, and vet paperwork. They will not travel with crates but can ride tethered in a back seat or cargo area. You can read their story and see pictures of these beautiful dogs on NASRN's blog:

**If you are crossposting, please email us for an UTD run sheet**

Due to the large number of Yahoo! groups we belong to and the amount of
mail generated on these groups, it is impossible for us to keep up with
all of the mail. We are on "Special Notice" on most of the groups we
post our transports to and we'd hate to miss your offer to help, so
please email us directly at the email below if you are able to assist.
DO NOT respond to the list or we may never see your offer to help!

Hello Transport Drivers!

This run is coordinated by: Jane

ORIGINAL POST:

Above and Beyond English Setter Rescue is requesting your
assitance in getting Zippy from his temp foster home to his
long term foster home in VT.

As usual, ALL legs are f-le-x-i-b-l-e.

If you are in between stops, but willing to help, email us with your
location and we'll discuss the possibilities of rewriting the run sheet
to accomodate you.

Also, you all are out there driving and know your roads better than we
do. If you need extra time added to the leg, please let us know when
you
volunteer and we can tweak the times to account for construction and
high traffic areas.

REMEMBER!: Many of the groups that we coordinate for are 501c3
non-profit. IF YOU FILE THE LONG FORM, you can use your transport
services as a tax deduction.

If at first you don’t succeed . . .
Remember the story? Two 15-mo-old Aussie pups, one a beautiful black tri and one a gorgeous blue merle, were left outside when their owner was evicted from their property, something to do with a divorce. Animal Control picked the dogs up, the owner signed them over. One of them, the blue merle, was going North to a rescue which has homes waiting. The black tri was discovered to be heartworm positive and needed to stay in SC til treatment is completed. Then the black tri was discovered to have parvo (she’s OK now) and the blue merle had to be quarantined until it was certain she was not infected too.
Two gorgeous redheads (still don’t know if they are solids or merles) were going to take their place but the transport was snowed out. The blue merle girl proved to be totally healthy. So now, the two redheads and the blue merle girl get another chance for a trip north.
Will you help them on their way?
Thanks.
