CROSSPOSTED FROM http://groups.yahoo.com/group/spotsociety/message/87143 PLEASE CROSSPOST~There are many dogs and puppies in urgent need of rescue at Floyd County Animal Shelter this week. ONLY 2 ADOPTIONS - ALL THESE DOGS ARE STILL IN DESPERATE NEED! The most at risk are eleven very tiny lab-shepherd mix puppies that need to be rescued as quickly as possible before they become ill. They are very young and a shelter is no place for these babies. There are other lab mix puppies as well, slightly older, including an absolutely darling little yellow lab mix baby boy. Among the mixed breeds are included an absolutely gorgeous shepherd husky mix and a beautiful lab shepherd mix, a lovely hound-shepherd mix girl, a very cute shepherd-terrier mix. There are many small dogs, a little female terrier, a chi-minpin mix, a poodle, a terrified little chihuahua. ALL OF THESE DOGS AND PUPPIES ARE SCHEDULED FOR EUTHANASIA ON WED., OCTOBER 21ST. ONLY THE ENGLISH BULLDOG & THE BOXER HAVE BEEN ADOPTED! PLEASE ACT QUICKLY! PLEASE DON'T THINK SOMEONE ELSE WILL SAVE THEM! YOU ARE THEIR ONLY HOPE! ALL OF THESE DOGS, BIG, LITTLE, ADULT, PUPPY ARE IN NEED OF RESCUE OR ADOPTION BY TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13th. Please look at this list and see if you can help even one! All of these dogs and puppies are URGENT! THE SHELTER WILL CLOSE ON WEDNESDAY AND ALL ANIMALS PAST THEIR HOLD TIME WILL DIE! PLEASE HELP THESE DOGS & PUPPIES! Local volunteers are available to help with pulling from the shelter and driving to the vet or boarding. If you do not have a local contact to assist you, please email Margaret at mrenowi@... A volunteer goes on Tuesdays to pick up dogs and take them to the vet. If you are not yet approved and are interested in helping Floyd County animals, please get approval right away! MOST OF THE SHELTER ANIMALS DIE EACH WEEK. Out of state rescues must pull under the license of a GA licensed rescue unless on the list of approved rescues! Floyd County Petfinder Link: LOCAL VOLUNTEER HELP IS AVAILABLE TO ASSIST YOU WITH PULLING AND WITH DRIVING DOGS FROM THE SHELTER TO BOARDING/VET CLINIC. Local volunteers cannot pay for boarding & vet care, nor can they coordinate out of state transport. Holly is going through some very rough times right now and has had to make the heart-wrenching decision to re-home some of her dogs. Piglet, her companion for the last 6 years, is one of those dogs. This is a long transport involving 3 days and 2 overnights, and lots of volunteers are needed! Please help Holly get Piglet to her new home where she can trust that she'll be well-cared for and loved!!
